What We Offer
Weight and Mental Health Are Connected. Your Care Should Be Too.
If you’ve gained weight after starting a psychiatric medication, you’re not imagining it, and you’re not alone. Weight changes are one of the most common reasons people stop taking medications that are otherwise working. Depression, anxiety, stress, and poor sleep can also affect appetite, cravings, and metabolism in ways that diet and exercise alone don’t always fix.
Synchronous’s integrative weight management program treats these issues together, under one provider who understands both your mental health and your medications.

Who This Program Is For
Integrative weight management may be a good fit if you:
- Have gained weight since starting an antidepressant, mood stabilizer, or antipsychotic
- Feel stuck choosing between mental health stability and a healthy weight
- Notice emotional eating, cravings, or appetite changes tied to mood or stress
- Have tried weight loss on your own without lasting results

Approach + Philosophy
How Our Integrative Approach Works
- Comprehensive evaluation. We review your mental health history, current medications, weight history, sleep, and relevant health factors to understand what’s driving the change.
- Medication review. Where appropriate, your provider may adjust or switch a psychiatric medication to one with a more favorable effect on weight, without sacrificing the symptom control you’ve worked for.
- Weight-support prescribing. For eligible patients, your provider may prescribe medications that support appetite regulation and weight loss, chosen with your psychiatric medications and history in mind.
- Ongoing monitoring. Regular follow-ups track your weight, mood, side effects, and any needed lab work, so both sides of your health stay on track.

Why "Integrative" Matters
Most weight programs treat your body and ignore your mind, and most psychiatric care treats your mood and treats weight as someone else’s problem. Integrative care means one plan and one provider weighing the full picture, so a change on one side doesn’t quietly undo progress on the other.
